Abstract: Agata will share her career journey after she received her Masters in Computers Science from PB in 2010. She will spend the first part talking about her research on Connected Cars at University of Luxembourg, and the University of California, Berkeley, USA. Then she will talk about her work at Uber where she was a founding engineer, and now an engineering leader, of a routing team that finds the best path to move every rider from point A to B efficiently and safely.

BIO:
Agata Grzybek received her MS in Computer Science from Facluty of Computer Science Bialystok University of Technolgy, Poland in 2011 and her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2015 from the University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg. She served as a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley at the interdisciplinary research center (PATH) that intersects Computer Science and Transportation Studies. Her research focused on graph theory, game theory, and distributed networks. She designed routing protocols and dynamic community detection algorithms for vehicular ad-hoc networks and applied them to the problem of road traffic congestion.
In 2014 Agata became a founding engineer of the Routing team at Uber, San Francisco, CA. Her team built routing and time estimation systems that serve hundreds of thousands of requests to power the whole Uber ecosystem. Since 2017 Agata has been leading engineering on the Routing team. As a leader, she is passionate about personal and professional development and incorporates mindfulness techniques into her leadership style.
