WHAT ARE: THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT, RESEARCH GROUPS, STUDENT AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS?

The shortest answer to the question “What is the student government?” is: it consists of all students of the Bialystok University of Technology. At our University, the official name is: Students Council of the Bialystok University of Technology (SSPB).

In order for the voice of the student community to be strong, audible, and capable of influencing the affairs of the University and individual faculties, we elect our representatives to the collegial bodies of the Students’ Union. By acting within official structures, they represent us and look after our interests.

Student research groups, student agencies and organizations, and the Students’ Union can be an adventure, a challenge, and places where you can develop your passions, realize your ideas, show initiative, and at the same time gain experience that no regular classes can provide.

The Students’ Union works on an ongoing basis with the University and Faculty Authorities to: – monitor and improve the quality of education, – adapt the teaching process to market needs, – distribute the financial aid fund for students.

Furthermore, the Students’ Union provides opinions on all documents concerning students (e.g., Study Regulations) and participates in establishing the academic year schedule.

In summary – the Students’ Union stands guard over students’ rights and defends your interests at the University – that is why we are always waiting for your questions and are ready to help.

Working in research groups, student agencies, and the union undoubtedly brings great benefits. These are not financial benefits, but intangible ones, such as teamwork, networking, friendships, experience, training and courses (often free of charge), trips, learning the principles of organization and good entrepreneurship, and the possibility of implementing your own ideas. Skills gained through student activity contribute to achieving life goals and fulfilling dreams.
